Problem:
Cash Drawer does not open when posting credit transaction under WINDOWS 2000 and
WINDOWS XP
Cause:
The cause of the problem is the cash drawer's power supply. Our current cash
drawer does not utilize a power adaptor to operate. It depends on the PC to
supply the power to open the drawer. In order to open the drawer thru our software, we
will have to initialize the cash drawer first.
This process can take up to 5 seconds before we can open the cash drawer. If we
don’t wait long enough or don’t initialize the drawer at all, it will not
open – we may hear the cash drawer click, but it will not open.
Solution:
Using an external adaptor – 12V 500mA Adaptor with Negative Tip Polarity
