DLL or Configuration errors with Extended Systems (Client Server)

Extended Systems (Advantage DataBase) engine is used with Compulink Advantage software. There are many other software applications that use the same set of DLLs and configuration files. These DLLs and configuration files can create a conflict with Compulink Advantage. Most conflicts are created if the Advantage software does not utilize these DLLs or Configuration files and the other application does. At times, different versions of the DLLs could also produce errors. A list of these DLLs and configuration files is provided at the bottom of this KB.

The DLLs and Configuration files will be used in the following order:

1) Application Directory

2) Windows/Winnt

3) System

4) Search Path

Search Path:

For Windows 2000 and Windows XP, this path can be found in the System Properties under the Advanced Tab. Push the button that states Environment Variables and look for path variable name. All listed paths will be subject to search unless the software has located the DLL/s or file/s.

For a Win9x machine this would be the path defined in the autoexec.bat file.

For all Windows machines to look at the path, open a dos prompt and type PATH.

List of the current DLLs and configuration files in use:

bulletACE32.DLL
bulletADSLOC32.DLL
bulletAXCWS32.DLL
bulletADSLOCAL.CFG
bulletADS.INI
